Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last Updated: February 14, 2026

This Cancellation & Refund Policy ("Policy") governs the cancellation and refund terms for subscription plans and services provided by YouMonkey ("YouMonkey", "we", "our", or "us"). This Policy forms part of and should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service.

1. Subscription Plans Overview

YouMonkey offers three subscription tiers:

Free

US$0/month — Up to 2 Product Births, watermarked outputs, standard support.

Go

US$12 one-time — Full blueprint for one idea (all reports + PDF export), full branding (no watermarks), 10 wireframe screens, website preview, meeting scheduling, priority support.

Standard

US$29/month — 5 Product Births per month, higher message limits, everything in Go, all features, meeting scheduling, priority support.

The Standard plan is billed monthly on a recurring basis; the Go plan is a one-time purchase. Prices are in US Dollars and are exclusive of applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax), which are calculated at checkout based on your billing address.

2. How to Cancel Your Subscription

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time using either of the following methods:

  • Self-Service: Navigate to your account Settings, then click "Manage Subscription" to cancel your subscription directly from your dashboard.
  • Email: Send a cancellation request to hello@youmonkey.dev from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 2 business days.

No cancellation fees, lock-in periods, or early termination charges apply. You are free to cancel at any time without penalty.

3. What Happens When You Cancel

Upon cancellation of a paid subscription:

  • Continued Access: Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing cycle. You will continue to have full access to all features of your plan during this period.
  • No Further Charges: No additional charges will be applied after the current billing cycle ends. Your payment method on file will not be charged again.
  • Automatic Downgrade: At the end of your current billing cycle, your account will automatically revert to the Free tier.
  • Data Retention: All your Product Birth data, conversation history, and previously generated artifacts will be retained and remain accessible. However, visual outputs (images, wireframes, prototypes) will be subject to Free tier watermarking.
  • Feature Restrictions: Free tier limitations will apply after downgrade, including: watermarked outputs, 2 Product Birth limit, and no access to meeting scheduling.
  • Reactivation: You may resubscribe to any paid plan at any time. Your existing data and Product Births will be immediately accessible under the new plan's features.

4. Refund Policy

Because the Services provide immediate access to AI-generated digital content upon subscription activation, refunds are generally not issued for partial billing periods or for periods during which the Services were available and accessible to you. However, we will issue refunds in the following circumstances:

Eligible for Refund

  • Duplicate or Erroneous Charges: If you are charged more than once for the same billing period, the duplicate charge will be refunded in full.
  • Charge After Cancellation: If your payment method is charged after you have successfully cancelled your subscription, the erroneous charge will be refunded in full.
  • Material Service Unavailability: If the Services are materially unavailable or non-functional for more than 72 consecutive hours due to an issue attributable to YouMonkey (excluding scheduled maintenance communicated in advance, force majeure events, or issues caused by third-party services), you may request a pro-rata refund for the affected period.
  • Statutory Rights: Where a refund is mandated by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction (see Section 5 below).

Not Eligible for Refund

  • Voluntary cancellation mid-billing-cycle (you retain access until the end of the cycle)
  • Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality (AI outputs are assistive and not guaranteed)
  • Failure to use the Services during a billing period
  • Downgrade from a higher-tier plan to a lower-tier plan
  • Account suspension or termination due to violation of our Terms of Service

5. Region-Specific Consumer Rights

The following section outlines additional cancellation and refund rights that may apply to you based on your jurisdiction. These rights are in addition to the general refund policy above and apply to the extent required by applicable law.

European Union (EU)

Applicable Law: EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU)

Consumers in the European Economic Area have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, during which you may cancel for any reason and receive a full refund.

Waiver of Withdrawal Right: By subscribing and immediately accessing the Services (including generating any AI-powered artifacts), you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the contract and acknowledge that you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal once digital content delivery has commenced. If you have not accessed or generated any content within the 14-day period, you remain entitled to exercise your right of withdrawal for a full refund.

Dispute Resolution: EU consumers may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform to resolve disputes.

United Kingdom (UK)

Applicable Laws: Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013; Consumer Rights Act 2015

UK consumers have a 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. The same waiver provisions as the EU apply when you access digital content immediately upon subscription.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. Where the Services fail to meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Your statutory rights are not affected by this Policy.

United States (USA)

Applicable Laws: State consumer protection statutes (vary by state); FTC Act

Refund and cancellation rights vary by state. We honour all applicable state consumer protection laws. Key state-specific provisions:

  • California: Under the California Automatic Renewal Law (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17600 et seq.), we provide clear disclosure of auto-renewal terms, a simple cancellation mechanism, and confirmation of cancellation.
  • New York: Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, and we will not charge your payment method after a successful cancellation.
  • Other States: We comply with all applicable state laws regarding automatic renewal disclosures, cancellation processes, and consumer protections.

Australia

Applicable Law: Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2, Competition and Consumer Act 2010)

Under the Australian Consumer Law, services come with automatic consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded. These include guarantees that services will be:

  • Provided with due care and skill
  • Fit for a particular purpose (where made known)
  • Delivered within a reasonable time

If the Services fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy, which may include a refund. Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition that cannot be excluded or limited under the Australian Consumer Law.

New Zealand

Applicable Law: Consumer Guarantees Act 1993; Fair Trading Act 1986

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, be fit for purpose, and be completed within a reasonable time. Where the Services fail to meet these guarantees, you may be entitled to remedies including having the issue fixed at no charge or receiving a refund.

This Policy does not limit or exclude any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Applicable Law: UAE Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection; Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL)

Under UAE consumer protection law, consumers are entitled to receive services that conform to their description and are free from material defects. Where services fail to meet these requirements, consumers may be entitled to a remedy including a refund.

Refund requests will be assessed in accordance with applicable UAE legislation. Consumers may file complaints with the Department of Economic Development (DED) in their respective Emirate.

Singapore

Applicable Law: Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (Cap. 52A); Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA)

Under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act, consumers are protected against unfair trade practices. Refund requests will be handled in accordance with applicable Singapore consumer protection laws.

Consumers may seek recourse through the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) or the Small Claims Tribunal for eligible disputes.

6. Enterprise Services Cancellation

Enterprise Services (custom software development engagements) are governed by a separate Statement of Work (SOW) between you and YouMonkey. Cancellation and refund terms for Enterprise Services are:

  • Before Work Commences: If you cancel before any development work has commenced, you are entitled to a full refund of any upfront payment, less a 5% administrative processing fee.
  • After Work Commences: Once development work has commenced, refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis reflecting the work completed, as documented in the SOW and progress reports.
  • Completed Deliverables: No refund is available for deliverables that have been completed and accepted by you.
  • Specific cancellation terms agreed upon in the SOW shall prevail over this general Policy.

7. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us with the following information:

  • Your full name and the email address associated with your YouMonkey account
  • The date and amount of the charge in question
  • The reason for your refund request
  • Any supporting documentation (e.g., screenshots of duplicate charges, cancellation confirmation emails)

Refund Requests

Email: hello@youmonkey.dev

We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and resolve them within 5–10 business days. Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method via PayPal. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.

8. Chargebacks and Disputes

We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer. We are committed to resolving billing concerns promptly and fairly. Filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in:

  • Temporary suspension of your account pending resolution
  • Delays in processing a refund that may otherwise be resolved more quickly through direct communication

9. Currency and Taxes

  • All refunds will be issued in the original currency of the transaction (USD).
  • Refunds will include any applicable taxes that were originally charged.
  • Currency conversion fees charged by your bank or card issuer are not within our control and are not refundable by YouMonkey.

10. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this Cancellation & Refund Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through a prominent notice on the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy indicates the most recent revision. Changes will not apply retroactively to transactions completed before the effective date.
